Genesis Chapter 6
6:2 the sons of God saw that the daughters of men were beautiful; and they took wives for themselves. Sons of God = Angels, also embodied in Greek mythology.
6:4 The Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterward when the sons of God came into the daughters of men, and they bore children to them.... These were the mighty men who were of old, men of renown.
Nephilim: Meaning “the fallen ones” (unnatural) Num. 13:33, Jude 6&7, 2 Peter 2:4 Children of Anak.
And also afterward: Probably post flood. “Nephillim” appears four times in the Old Testament. Each reference
applies to angels... Refer to Jesus’ statement, “As the days of Noah were, so shall the end be.
6:9 Noah was a righteous man, blameless in his time. Heir of
righteousness, justified by faith and not contaminated by the events of verse 4. Heb. 11:6
6:14 Make for yourself an ark of gopher wood; you shall make the ark with rooms, and shall cover it inside and out with pitch. Ark of gopher wood: Only refuge from judgement.
Pitched in and out for preservation to be a future testimony to unbelievers as it was for 120 years during its construction.
6:22 Thus Noah did; according to all that God had commanded him, so he did. Issue of flood is not whether, but why. Four
generations of preachers (Enoch, Methuselah, Lamech & Noah) did not help the world. There were an estimated four billion people on the earth at the time of Noah. All perished but eight. God takes sin
very seriously!!!
